Containments are essential to all stages of the oil and gas industry. Whether you are in upstream, midstream, or downstream. Most likely there will be some type of containment required during your operation.
Secondary containments are used in the event that the primary containment fails. These containments are generally constructed using felt (geotextile material) to protect the liner which is constructed of polyethylene material. Once the material is layout seams are welded together to provide a continuous leak-free barrier of protection. Berms are then built along the outside to finish the containment.
Why are containments important?
- Provides are continuous barrier between hazardous waste and the environment
- Protects nearby waters ways
